Nothing is Ever Nothing
Nothing,
When I say nothing
What do you imagine?
What does nothing look like?
Or is that too hard to fathom.
Nothing is everything that can not be seen
But what exactly does that mean?
Nothing is the air we breathe.
Oxygen from the sky
Turns into carbon
Lying in the leaves.
Nothing is a promise broken between friends,
Causing one to hold a grudge until the very end.
Nothing is the answer you’ll get
When you ask your girlfriend:
“What and where do you want to eat.”
“Nothing… You pick.”
Nothing is never really nothing.
Whether it be the air we breathe
Or the friendships we leave.
There’s always something
To that nothing.
