Why Do We Drift Away From God?
“God is all powerful”
“God is almighty”
“God is all knowing”
We hear these things.
We believe them
So what happens?
We lose our interest
We lose our childish dependence
We lose our childish curiosity
We lose our childish love.
Childish is good
This world tricks us -
“Grow up!”
“You’re such a baby!”
“Stop crying!”
“Act your age!” -
We think we need to grow up,
to be adults,
to be independent.
But it is that childish dependence
that keeps us tethered
to the One we need.
The Savior.
The Father.
The Messiah.
The Bible says
That we must receive His kingdom
as a CHILD
Is that what we hear in this world?
To be a child?
No.
The devil does not want us to think as a child
because he knows that doing so will bring us
Closer to GOD.
As a child, we focus on the good
and overlook the bad
and know that God is greater
than ANYTHING.
As an adult,
we have been exposed to the bad
First-Hand for so long,
and it seeps into our consciousness
making us think bad is greater than good
because bad is more tangible than good is in this world.
THIS is why we drift away from God.
We wonder,
Why does God let us suffer in this world?
Why doesn’t He do something?
He says,
I did - I created YOU.
We must know
that we, no matter what age,
must focus on the good
Know that God is greater
and be the ones that shine His light
on this broken world.
We must know that God lets us suffer
because it makes us stronger.
We can choose to run away from Him,
Or we can choose to trust in Him;
Grow closer to him,
in times of trial.
HE loves us.
“Be still and know that I am GOD.”
Dedicated to my wonderful mother, Jessica, who has been my spiritual role model through the good times and and bad.

Wrote this during a time when I was struggling spiritually - Read the bible verse that says "receive your faith as a child" in youth group and it stood out to me, so I ended up writing this. Hope it can be a help to anyone who needs it.
