solitary days in evergreen glades
April 23, 2016
during my solitary days in evergreen glades,
i sought tranquility and obtained silence.
i am not lonely, i swear i am not;
i have chosen these friendless nights for myself
and i am not afraid of the dark.
when morning dawns, it shatters the dusk
as light breaks through the cracks in the hills
and i finally see perfection in its most beautiful form–
yet it is impossible for me to last another day
in my evergreen glades.
today, i am bound homeward
because perfection, though perfect,
cannot replace you.
