I am a cosplay,
dressing up like someone I’m not,
acting like I’m someone else.
Finally feeling popular
people knowing who I am
or at least who I’m impersonating.
Acting strong even though I am weak,
smiling even if I want to cry
because that’s who my character is.
People calling out to me,
a name that is not really mine.
Walking around as someone I wish I was,
not acting how I actually am.
If people knew the real me,
my thoughts,
my feelings,
my memories,
I wouldn’t be so loved.
They would look at me like I’m a stranger,
not the hero I’m made out to be.
