A Life's New Journey
Dear mother,
as you are reading this,
those curtains up in my room,
flapping free,
proving you that I am free.
Dear mother,
you need not to worry,
the place I am in now,
is something close,
to a shading tree.
Dear mother,
you've always cared for me,
but if I were to be guided by you,
for my entire life,
then it's not the life I'd choose to live.
Dear mother,
when I was a little kid,
your hands will be in mine,
but I am growing up now,
just let me live,
I'll be just fine?
Dear mother,
I don't want to break your heart
lose your affection.
You brought me up to do the right thing,
but this goodbye is the starting,
of a journey towards my new life,
maybe it's not right for you,
but it is for me.
