Repeal
In a place where they repair the injured and diseased, I lay
My stomach swollen with life
Given by someone who didn’t want it.
The room filled with those trained for the job but no one who raised me or was raised with me.
They feel I am too young to be in this situation, and they're right.
They told me to exterminate and I considered
There's no malice in it, just emotional logic
Let it be gone before it knew it.
But that’s not fair
I am in this alone.
The self hatred is setting in
The hatred of what's inside me is in
It tore two families apart.
I pushed it out
The imp was gone.
The doctor was in possession of it.
I listened to its wail
I had to look at it. It caused me so much emotional distress
She blew me away
She was healthy, and strong
I had to hold her
She was so innocent and vulnerable
How could I hate her
She calmed in my arms
I looked at my creation
The feeling in my heart was strong and unmistakable
It made me cry
I no longer felt lonely
It was love
