Untitled
How simple life must be,
For two birds of a feather,
Who fulfill life together?
How nice it must be,
Every day a nugget of sunlight,
And every night nestled against a mate,
Safe and snug under a plum sky.
How content they must be,
Nourished and cared for.
The cornucopia of the domesticated life,
Is theirs to share.
They revel in their unsophisticated luxury,
Showing appreciation with a song.
How charmed they must feel,
By each other’s sweet caresses,
Side by side on a perch,
Heads bent towards the other,
Eyes closed,
Legs folded,
Wings relaxed.
Life must be a song!
A series of duets by two wedded composers.
Each minute a harmonic chord,
Each hour a melodic verse,
Each day a rhythmic chorus,
Each life a magnificent symphony.
They fly and they dance and they sing in their rapture
Happiness has been captured,
By these two bonded spirits.
Swathed in gossamer,
Painted in radiance,
Colors of all pallets
Elegantly smudged on their feathers.
Winged canvases.
Feathered masterpieces.
Flying through life without trouble,
Or doubt.
Do I dare sing with them?
