Love, Love, Love.
“You’re running out of time, you’re running out of life; t i c k, t i c k, t i c k.
You told me your parents wouldn’t listen; h u s h, h u s h, h u s h.
We talked about it one time after you showed me, you showed me the red lines of inadequacy and the feeling of loathing yourself that were hidden on your thighs and the bend of your upper limbs; s p e a k, s p e a k, s p e a k.
You explained them as the words you spoke to your parents that they ignored, so they were left to smash against your skull; s i l e n c e, s i l e n c e, s i l e n c e.
You told me they made the pain that moved so strong in your heart that it smashed into your ribcage until it cracked; c r a c k, c r a c k, c r a c k.
I defined them as the agonizing and bitter letters to your heart of all the words you couldn’t bare to say to anyone else, but one day it’ll get stuck in your veins and cause blood to gush out of the red lines and to cause your heart to stop; p u s h, p u s h, p u s h.
Although, I would fold myself up into a little rectangle to fit into the envelope and shove my way through your veins to your heart, and I’d pump it back to life; s h o v e, s h o v e, s h o v e.
And my love, my love would pump you back to life just like my note would pump your heart back to life; p u m p, p u m p, p u m p.
Unfortunately you’re running out of time and I may not be able to show you the love you deserve, and my love may not get to pump your heart back; s a v e, s a v e, s a v e.
But all I can say, is that I love you. And hopefully you realize my love is enough to save you; l o v e, l o v e, l o v e.”
