Prom

A minuscule room

With dimmed lights

People dance

The whole night.

Crowds compact

Into a small place

Leaving no room 

To get away.

Chaperones swarm the area

Roaming around

Searching for trouble

And look for what needs to be found.

The odor grows

As does the crowd

The smell surrounds everyone

As it makes its way around.

People begin to sweat

And their makeup starts to smear 

Pitting everywhere

It's not something people want to be near.

Slowly people start to scatter,

And the air starts to clear

People make their way out  

Leaving  few there. 

The night dims down

And it's time to leave

It's something I'll always remember
