Who? What?
As it sits there
Swaying in the wind
Flowers growing at the same speed
But who’s prettier
The dead grass or
The beautiful bold flower
They compete against each other
To see who gets more attention
He grows and gets cut
She grows and gets cherished
What to do, what to do
She loves him for him
But he doesn’t feel the same
She’s beautiful to get his attention
But he doesn’t notice
Eventually when he notices that she loves him
It’s a little too late

I was inspired to write this poem by sitting outside with my friends (while at school) and saw 3 yellow flowers and grass.
