Hello from the Moon
Hey, where did you go?
You were right here, just now.
Hello?
Come out already!
This isn’t funny anymore.
The clouds blocking the moon are starting to scare me.
They’ve never scared me before.
But now you’re not here,
And I’m terrified.
The clouds are coming closer.
I’m cowering in the corner
with my hands over my eyes
I can’t look
I have to look
I peek.
The clouds are almost here.
But as they close in on me
I realize that really
They’re just puffs of vapor
Translucent, like glass.
I look through them
And I can see you!
You’re waving hello from the moon
And even though you’re so many miles away from me,
You’re right here.
You always were.
