Some days
I will fight
Giving the battle
My greatest strength
And it still wouldn’t
Be enough.

Some days
I will crawl
Calm as the sea
Laying low
Between air and water
And it still wouldn’t be enough.

And some days
I will soar
Volatile as fire - ablaze

I have the vigor of a thousand flames
Fiery, powerful, but
Dangerous to the touch

I have the tranquility of
The waves
Lapping over the same spot
Backandforth
And
Backandforth
Safe but vast with dormancy.

Once in a blue moon,
I will push the waves a mile high
Reaching beyond everything
To keep myself from submersing into the water.

Once in a red moon,
I will tame the flames
To keep myself from getting scorched.

Forever forming
I have yet to outrun myself
No matter how hard I try

I cannot outrun myself,
Because I don’t know which one
Is truthfully me.

I was inspired by the forever-forming enigma that is one's personality. Personally, I feel like I change who I am almost every second.
