The War
Blood
Splattered all around
Bodies on the ground
Parents wailing in the street
Children wait for still bodies to wake
The bombs have dropped
The war has begun
The body count is rising
The sky is crying
Tears of black ash
A call has gone out
Men and women are packing
Uniforms are put on
Marching towards front lines
To protect the families left behind
Few will make it home
Some will have no home to return to
All will have scars, visible and not
Some will need care that’s not provided
Some will never mentally return
When the sirens sound
Cities will be razed
People will flee to shelters
When they return destruction is all around
Scattered bodies of those who couldn’t run
When all is said and done
The war is finally over
The winner will write the history
The horrors will be glazed over
And in 100 year we will repeat
