An invisible force beckons you outside

Bare feet slap against the ground

Trees rustle and creak with each breath of the sky

You are in a trance

Grass replaces concrete

Bare flesh against stone transforms into muted footsteps

You avoid strewn acorns and sticks, finding the one spot of grass made for your body

The tendrils reach out like fingers drawing you in with promises of night

And so you lie there

grass whispering against the wind

secrets spilling upon your body

You watch as the sky swirls and sputters its sea of colors

now that the sun has disappeared behind an invisible hill

Faint hues of pink, purple, and orange dance among the clouds

But it is not the beautiful shades that draw you in

It is the atmosphere

the strange twinge in the air of a day coming to end

the serenity of the warm summer wind enveloping your skin

the grass, somewhat moist, pressing against your now dampened clothing

This time is made for you and you only

At this precise moment no one else exists

Now the light is nearly faded

Thoughts roam your head

Words tumble and twist in a rhythmic dance

At twilight, thinking is heeling

Words soothe the soul and at this precise moment words are what you need

You need the comfort of what you cannot recall during the time the sun shines brightly

Your mind craves the approaching darkness

Your mind craves the comfort of the night
