I am Golf
35 Lines
I AM GOLF
I am the wacky pants,
the cool hats and Nike polos.
I am the deep sand traps,
the woods
keep the ball low.
I am the trees,
that magically brought my ball back in play.
I am the early morning tee times
the late night range sesh.
I am the hole in ones
and the triple bogeys.
I am the up and downs to save par,
the 20 foot putt for birdie.
I am the dirty glove
“Ill buy a new one when i lose it”
but you won't lose it.
I am the long day on the course
the look of disgust on my face,
yet happy i got to play.
I am the lost ball
“where's the drop zone.”
100 yards to the pin
pitching wedge ready.
I am the lucky breaks,
those unfair bounces.
I am the gambler
“how far to clear the water.”
I am the ball that rolled off the green,
then the good recover
still salty after.
Long walks after a bomb drive,
absolutely nothing on my mind.
I am the hot dog and coke after hole 9
the hats off hand shake after 18.
I am the post round nap,
don’t wake me up from.
