Ode To Books
Through the dusty shelves
 of rows and rows
 is delivered
 a world.

 Deep within
 the senses of the mind,
 we are slave
 to the shackles,
 bounded by the glue
 of the pages.
 Consumed are we,
 succumb to the thrill
 of the treacherous mountains,
 perilous seas,
 And glistening sands,
 as we travel, to an
 alternate universe.
 Reality gone,
 quiet ensues,
 filled with laughter and tears
 of the mind,
 as we share
 the savorous stories,
 the fictional truths,
 like a secret.
 As we go through,
 we are part
 of the adventure,
 for we cry, as part
 of us dies,
 grin as a part
 of our innocence
 is regained
 by the words
 that mend
 the soul.
 Reality gone,
 we become family,
 as love is transferred
 between the pages,
 of our hearts.

 You have so much,
 and I, so little.
 So I need you
 to save me
 from this
 treacherous ignorance.
 Immerse me,
 into your vast knowledge,
 like monsoon winds
 engulfing the once cracked
 barren deserts.
 Raise me, help me,
 emerge from this isolation,
 of lonely spirits
 in the
 decreasing society,
 of classic,
 unadulterated, raw ink.

 You teach me
 many things
 As you will continue
 to do so,
 for I,
 will never cease
 to be amazed
by the wonders of what you contain.
 While my people change
 as time continues,
 You will remain
 immortal.
 Your contents
 may not
 be written
 nor spoken,
 but they will
 carry on
 into the nights,
 and days
 to follow.
