Tender Hearted

He was mighty like Zeus and strong within.
He was loud and audacious, never thinking twice.
She was delicate like a daisy and overpowered by him,
while she cleaned up his messes and had to pay his price.

And he tore her apart placing her in troubled woe.
She felt vulnerable and she knew her mental state,
but she loved him dearly and could never let go.
She would someday crumble and leave her to deteriorate.

“Goodbye my sweet love, I can no longer stay.
You tortured my mind and played with my heart;
therefore, I think it’s best if we part our own ways;
but, I have always loved you, from finish to start.”

So one day she packed up her bags and ventured far,
leaving nothing but the tiny note in the front seat of his car.

Sweet Baby Girl

Brown eyes widened,
Blushed cheeks,
Fair skin,
You are my world
Sweet baby girl

Tiny fingers,
Piggy toes,
Little lips
And tender nose
Sweet baby girl

The Future

It’s difficult to imagine our life journey has not yet begun.
As blinded as we are, high school was intended to be fun.
When a trivial event transpired in our life.
We lost our composure under the burden and strife.

But the truth is our life has not yet started.
We must distinguish what truly matters and what should be parted.
Popularity holds as much meaning as a rumor.
It was insignificant drama that meant nothing in the future.

As we walk across that stage with our diplomas in our hand,
Your “reputation” will vanish into miniscule grains of sand.
The only thing worth stressing over is giving your education your all;
Because, those you think matter, will mean nothing next fall.
