Anticipation is--

waiting for Santa to come down your chimney,
waiting for the school day to be over,
waiting for that boy you like to text back,
waiting for the night of your first dance,

waiting to walk across the stage at graduation,
waiting on the day you get to move out on your own,
waiting until the day you walk down the aisle,
waiting through the birth of your first child,
