Warm and safe in the shelter made of cloth,
The weather throws all it’s might yet you're strong and steady.
Like the apparel of a protector or a guard,
The way it makes me look like a totally different being.

It makes me change my mood,
The happy, outgoing me is sealed up once it latches onto my body.
It turns me into this worried, sad and depressed person,
Always shrouds me in sorrow like mist over a forest.

The emotions it puts in me don’t always have negative effects,
It protects me from hate, like a shield protecting the knight.
All the negativity that is thrown my way only bounces off,
Like a boomerang, the problems always come back to haunt me.

It helps me hide how I truly feel inside,
Like a card trick it’s magical how easy it is to hide them.
How odd it is to have so much meaning in one simple piece of clothing,
Yet no one can understand the bond a jacket can have on a person,
And the human bond to a jacket.
