Under my Tree
I sit watching its apples ripen
in the growing sunlight.
Their shiny surfaces reflect my
face, until I am surrounded by mirrors.
Each one a seer’s ball,
I am trapped
by numerous possibilities.
As I gaze up at my leisure
each one looks
more tantalizing than the last.
Unable to choose just one
I sit and wait,
as the apples rot
falling to the ground
one by one.
Soon I am left with nothing
but hunger.
For in the absence of choice,
I made a terrible decision.
