In the hole
Once again I’m stuck in a hole--deep, dark, and cold.
It is so lonely in here.
I can’t even see two inches in front of my face.
There is no one else down here.
As lights pass overhead, I can see my breath.
It is so cold in here.
I can hear faint voices, but I know I’m alone.
They sound so familiar.
Am I ever going to be able to get out of here?
I can sometimes poke my head out on a good day.
It’s getting hard to breathe.
It is so crowded in here.
The voices above try to help me out saying everything will be alright.
I put my trust in them.
They were right.
