The frost is dusted across the lawn
like frosting on a cake
Decorating the plants
while taking their life
Glitter descends from the clouds
turning pines into ghosts
Snow covered streets become an ice rink
people nervously driving slow
Sledding, snowmobiling,
fun in the snow
All broke down on the trails
getting ready to ride again
Starting cold cars
in the morning
Turning on the heat.
Toes thawing as the car heats up
Sitting by the fireplace
all wrapped up in a blanket
drinking hot chocolate
listening to Christmas music.
