Ode to the Sky
clouds float above our heads unnoticed
cirrus clouds have white wisps that spread across the sky like hands
stretching along keys to play a piano’s octave
sunsets soak into the sky like food dye
creating a wide spectrum of colors
chilly rain falls and gathers in a puddle
drops huddle like coyotes, dependent on each other
snow drifts down and blankets the rough earth beneath us
hiding all past from seasons before
ode to all the things the sky provides
changing this world through our every day eyes

I wanted to write a poem in appreciation of the little things in life we overlook. The sky has been around forever and is truly amazing to look at because it never stays the same. The next time you wake up in the morning and hurry to work or school, look around you and absorb the natural beauty the world has to offer.
