Dear Officer
It's a shame when people say "remember that black guy that got killed by a cop?" and they reply with "which one?"
Another mother crying because a cop shot her son. All these years, but look at what we've done. Why have we marched? Why do we protest? They call us animals, but we act like this cause we are upset.
Dear officer: when you see my brother's face will you look into his eyes cause he is not only judged by his race. He is intelligent and outgoing but you don't see that, do you? All you see is another black guy that could rob or rape a girl. You don't understand that this happens all over the world. Black, Asian, Indian, or white--we are all the same people, but the consequences of our actions are not not always made equal. Do you have a family to come home too? Well me too. Do you bleed red blood when your hurt? Well me too. Do you cry when another black man dies? Well you don't, but I do.
But who am I? I'm just a little black girl. You may not be hurting me, but I feel the pain of my brothers all over the world. YES you built this stereotype around us, and YES we may have filled it in. But you put this label over us like you never sinned. So mister almighty with the gun in your hand, let's put down the weapons, let's think of a plan.
I CAN'T BREATHE!!!! Why won't you help me breathe again? I put my hands in my pocket and you shot me thinking I'm about to pull out a gun, but you point one at me and don't expect me to run. Or I get five bullets to my back...six to be exact. Maybe I'll live maybe I'll die it doesn't matter to you does it? I'm just one more person for you to put in a box or a jail cell if I'm lucky. Blood on your hand no problem just wash it off. Blood on a black man's hands, of course he did it...somebody lock him up. Another black man dead, another black man problem. Why even bring it up if nobody's gonna solve them. Tomorrow is just like yesterday. The future is just like the past. We are walking around like above us is our hourglass, telling us when our time is up. But it's not really up is it? It's just time for another funeral or another jail visit.
