Two Teams
The players are running across the field;
they’re trying to get a win.
And the fans have turned out in droves,
unsure of how the game will turn out.
For now, at least it’s a close game.
Both teams are going for the win,
wanting to be the team on top.
They’re pushing themselves to prevail,
and they want that victory…
But who will win in the end?
It’s the first game of the season,
February 1st, 2016.
It’s a cold day and snowy day;
two bitter rivals going at it:
The Washington Elephants vs. The D.C. Donkeys.
The Elephants have more players,
so they have the upper hand.
Well, you know that’d be the case,
if they all didn’t play so bad.
But, still the Donkeys don’t look great.
They’ve lost so many players.
There’s been too many injuries on the field.
But, they’re trying to pull it off.
The Donkeys starting quarterback
goes by the name of Clinton.
She’s played the game for quite a while,
almost made it to the top…
But she fumbled the ball and lost.
The Elephants have a new all star;
his name is Donald Trump.
His numbers sure look great,
but he’s a big talker all the way...
and that gets him sacked so much.
The Donkeys know how to win;
they’ve won the last two rings.
The Elephants want this one,
but they’ll have to get more scores,
and maybe stop tackling each other.
But neither team has many fans;
those completely devoted at least,
because there are liars, cheaters, quitters,
and even worse than that...
players who just can’t catch the ball!
