I used to believe the terrifying, eerie night swallowed all the light,
But now I enjoy the darkness.
The tranquil night soothes me,
Letting me rest undisturbed.

I used to believe monsters haunted my closet,
But now I know they do not exist.
Even if I leave my closet open,
Nothing seems to torment me.

I used to believe stuffed animals awoke during the night,
But now I know they do not.
They stay perfectly still,
Not uttering a single word.

I still allow my imagination to soar,
But now I do not act as gullible.
I visualize how artistic my mind seemed,
And wish I remained as creative now.
With time, my old beliefs tend to vanish.
