Words fall off your tongue

Movements flow through your hands

You say you love me

But to love me you must know me

Yet you clearly don't know

How I would never let such tainted hands graze my skin

To love me you must listen to me

Yet you can't hear the word no climbing up my throat

To love me you must respect me

Yet you're not here for my mind, heart, and soul but my body

I will not be brought down by your temptation

Stop your kiss is not my salvation

When I go to walk away

"No wait I'm sorry" you say

"I screwed up let's move on"

The truth is if after a thousand noes

There was one forced okay

Sorry would be the last word in your vocabulary

You're sorry I said no and wasn't changing my mind

You're sorry I pushed your hand away

You're sorry I called you out

You're sorry your don't have a story to tell at practice tomorrow

You're sorry for my actions not yours

The author's comments:

This poem is sadly something many young women can relate to. It's something that I feel isn't really talked about the way it should be. I feel that everyone should be able to speak out and know that it isn't your fault and it's okay to say no. I hope
