Drowning
We like to believe that we are swimming
To a lush island somewhere west and west
We like to believe that we are experts
Even though no one taught us how
As the water gets deeper I realize
I am not swimming
I am drowning
Maybe there is an island
But it is too far for me to see
Just behind the horizon it lies waiting
But I am drowning
No matter how far west and west
East of eden is closer
I could just turn back
We like to believe that we are swimming
To a lush island somewhere west and west
Just behind the horizon it lies about
Waiting but we are drowning
