Boys and girls are from different worlds
Mars, and Jupiter
But I, I defected from one for the other
And found myself lost in the vacuum of space
In between the two
Struggling to cross into that other world
That I can see in front of me:
Having fun and laughing and fooling around
with friends
Wanting to have that, knowing that I can’t
Because nobody can hear you scream in the
vacuum of space
You suffocate and expect to die but you somehow never do
And without an astronaut’s suit you cannot move
Boys and girls come from different worlds,
Mars, and Jupiter
Stuck in the middle I look to my left and see
Girls laughing and giggling and having fun
with their friends
And I think, Why can’t I enjoy this?
I look to my right and see
Boys engaging in tomfoolery and jokes and checking girls out
And I think, Why CAN’T I enjoy this?
Because I already defected from my home planet
And I can only blame myself
