Divorce
Divorce is disastrous.
It can tear a family apart -
like a tornado in Oklahoma.
Children separated.
Living in new homes, possibly
new towns.
Divorce can cause a family
who seems to have everything
to end up having nothing.
Parents move on.
Some finding another partner.
Many hurt feelings will always
remain.
Grudges will
never be forgotten.
In the end,
families will realize life
must go on.
The sun will always rise.

I was inspired to write this poem by living through a divorce. Two years ago, my parents decided to separate and file for divorce. My brother and I chose to live in opposite homes and sort of grew apart from one another.
