"Okay."
"Okay."
“Everything will be okay”
The only words people know to say
as they see a friend in pain.
How do they know?
How do they know you will be okay?
Your suffering isn't felt by anyone except yourself
It's as if the pain is making you invisible
Nobody but you had to hide away from your own reflection
You are disgusted with yourself
But you will be okay, right?
The pain clearly formed in your eyes means nothing
The obvious scream for help from your silence?
Never acted upon
“She’s doing it for attention” they will say
Exactly what you’re doing right now
A person can only be strong for so long
Until they do not want to continue on
no longer seeing their self worth
The darkness wraps around you until there is no room left to breath
Years of damage that were not ever healed will find a way
to destroy you
I think it has
But everything will be okay, right?
I will be okay

I have had a rough time this past year with all the pain surrounding the ones around me and within myself which is what inspired this poem, "Okay.". I am a senior in highschool, hoping that my poem will be published to inspire people to continue on and know that they will be okay no matter how hard it seems.
