Ars Poetica
Poetry can be in disguise
Or instead it may be overt.
It may require profound thinking
Or be rather straightforward.
Poetry can be pleasing to the mind
Or brazen in its words and lines.
It may draw out our optimism
Or expose our most potent emotion.
Poetry can explain life’s wonders
Or perhaps its darker aspects.
It may be like a burst of joy
Or a describer of despair.
Poetry can act as a friend to all,
Or in other words, relate to any.
It may seem like a cluster of lines
But really, can be much more.
