Learn To Swim
I've got scars on my body
And stories I'll never tell
I know no one can stop me
Including myself
I laugh to myself because isn't it
Ironic how we use pain to relieve pain
Pain that, to us, is real
But to others, imaginary
Depression is the slow erosion of the self
No fever, no hiccups, no rashes
Nothing but the cruel, insidious punishment of
Seeing nothing but darkness within and around you
It's like I’m drowning
And you're standing on the shore
Screaming out the word's 'learn how to swim'
Just as the current pulls me under

Depression is a struggle, and makes things seem improbable, impossible. I tried my best to tap into that with this poem.
