it eventually gets better, without any sort of explanation; you just wake up one morning and you're just as upset anymore.

i often find myself having trouble articulating my words
my sentences get stuck in me and hide beneath my tongue as they slur out of my mouth,
so i refrain from speaking
i find my needle and thread and stitch up my mouth before my words become more confusing than they already are,
but then my thoughts are trapped
they push at the ceilings of my head, banging and banging, trying to escape
i rub my head trying to calm my brain as the headache grows stronger,
but my thoughts will not rest until they can break the stitch on my lips
they will not stop fighting for an escape until the top of my head flips open like a chest that soon reveals all the treasures inside
i disguise my brain as black to cover up the plethora of colors begging to be seen
the thoughts are too strong, too bright, too different
they won’t give up
my words will never surrender the battle of breaking open my head until they can flow out like a tidal wave, no matter how messy or destructive,
my words will be recognized.

sometimes i really don't know what to say, and sometimes people call me awkward. it really bothers me. it makes me want to stop talking.
