Little Friend
If I were a color it would be orange
like my first stuffed animal that I found
lying upon the cracks
of an amusement park
while crowds of people passed by,
ignoring the tiny, mucky stuffed animal.
Dependent and lonely,
the same scene plays on and on
as I sit in the concealed corner of the room
holding my stuffed animal tightly
to my chest unable to take a step forward.
The ringing voices of children laughing
and playing among each other
becomes an irritation,
that I want to be a part of.
