Where I'm From
I’m from a happy family that always tries to get along.
When happiness isn’t achieved, it’s World War III.
There’s three of us kids and I’m the first.
The leader, the example, the one to follow.
Expectations at an all-time high,
With even little cousins looking up.
Lifelong best friends living within 500 feet
I’m from playing in baby pools in diapers with Jason,
To studying for SATs, ACTs, applying for colleges,
To going to homecoming and eventually prom with him too.
I’m from going to church every Sunday,
Twice a day,
For church and youth group at night.
I’m from a family that puts family first
I’m from appendicitis that put me on what they thought,
My death bed.
I come from support, love, and wisdom.
Having a long lasting, strong, supportive group of friends.
I’m from the love of the game.
The game of softball.
I’m from loving the Lord and loving the people
To serving the Lord and serving the people.
I am from the things that make me, me.
I come from those things that I would never change,
No matter what.
