MEET ME
Meet me down at ferguson,
Where they gather by the thousands.
Meet me down the street,
With skittles and a bottle of tea.
Meet me at starbucks,
Where panic attacks are "disorderly conduct".
Meet me at the corner store,
Just for a smoke, by those things can kill you
Be careful, don't choke.
Meet me at my graduation celebration,
How about 6 shots for congratulations.
Meet me in thecstreet,
Where toy guns may bring you to your feet.
Meet me in custody,
No cameras, ruled suicide? Well it must be.
Meet me.
Meet me at the place where my loved ones now sob
Meet me at the place, where I was brutally robbed.
Meet me at the scene with yellow tape,
Terrorists are rewarded "leave with administrative pay".
Meet me at the courthouse where no justice is served,
Meet me at the loud speaker, be my voice be heard.
Meet me in numbers, but please, I head,
Do not be next.
Do not meet me formerly,
I have a date with Emmitt Till and Malcolm X.

With me being a black 17 year old female in a proud black house hold, it is a reality that we hear of the deaths of our brothers and sisters, and it angers and it hurts us, but it is not until you put yourself in the shoes of these fallen kings and queens, that you realize just how important the black lives matter movement is, my intention for Meet Me is to take the reader through vague situations in the very real realities for afro Americans in america, I give examples to victins, then the outcomes that we are very aware of, but the thigh is, I never once mention color nor what happened exactky, but everyone I've read this to has gotten an idea of what I was eluding to. B that's my goal, to make you aware.
