I’m from sweet dreams and calming prayers
Sunday’s twinning with my sister, white and pink loving the bond and connection we have had
I’m from home cooked soul food meals
Me and my dad’s singing comforted me and my family and made us feel safe
Anywhere we lived felt like home when we me and my dad sang songs of peace and happiness
I’m still from faith, kindness, and love
I hope it’s always this way
