Where I'm from
I’m from a family of five, well four since my older sister didn’t live with us since I was eight. I’m from a young mother, and a much older father.
I’m from fist fighting my 2 years older sister, and missing my 18 years old half-sister, who lived in another country. I’m from the delights of my country, from the deliciousness of the food, the tasty, and juicy Peruvian roasted chicken, to the smell of fresh made coffee made by my father in the evenings. I’m from there and I’m from here. I’m from where my family is. I’m from fights and reconciliations with my sisters, nieces, and cousins. I’m from long walks in the park with my little nieces, who not long ago, were strangers to me. I’m from meeting people for the first time, a second time. I came to this country to meet my nieces for the first time. Once here I found myself meeting my older sister again for the first time, since I didn’t remember that much about her. I’m from each tear that came down my cheeks when looking at these strangers for the first time, and feeling so much love. I’m from hugs, I’m from tears. I’ve living here for 2 years now, and I feel from here. I’m where my family is, I am home. I’m from love. I came here and found love, not the romantic type of love, besides that, I found love within my family, the struggles of coming to a whole new different world made us remember what it feels like to have each other. I’m from struggles, I’m from a once to be happy family, who broke apart and decided to change hoe things were working. I used to miss my older sister, now I’m from missing my dad, who I haven’t seen in two years. I’m from late night calls after work with my father, and I’m from late night cries from my 8 months old little brother. I’m from him and I’m from him. I’m from my dad’s old, deep voice, to my brother’s smiles and cries. I’m from missing my father but loving my brother, who If We didn’t move here, we wouldn’t have. I’m from sacrifices and I’m from compensations. I’m from sacrificing my time to getting love from these sacrifices. I’m from here, but mostly I’m from there. I’m from my family that is just everywhere.Where I’m from
