Everyone wants to be black,
But no one wants to be black.
They wanna act like us,
talk like us,
walk like us,
and vibe like us.

But no wants to strive for us,
fight for us, or
be by our side when they see us.
See us being killed,
being threatened,
being discriminated,
and being slaughtered.

And it’s funny because,
the same people who wanna be like us,
dress like us,
look like us,
and act like us,
are the ones who make us feel
like we’re not worthy of being treated like
a civilized human.

They make us feel like being
the sweetest, the smoothest,
and darkest chocolate in the box,
is vile and dirty.

They call us,
filthy animals, ghetto,ratchet, unintelligent,unsuccessful;
the list goes on and on.

But, despite all of that,
we continue to fight.
We continue to prove them wrong.
We continue to show them that we’re not these stereotypes,
but that in fact,
we’re more than what meets the eye.
