Great Oak
Majesty is bestowed from the glorious heavens
Rippling lights radiating from its calm presence
Standing silently, blissfully, heroically
An auburn splendor rightly justified
With a canvas of emerald resting on its head
Jade and amethyst glowing; a supernova arranging
One thousand flags, one thousand banners, one thousand emblems
Rising and waving in the mellow breeze
Its chocolate shell reaches out
Tendrils materializing like magic
Each arm, each finger, each nail
Circulated with joyous life
And as it gallantly raises its head
It is a monastery above the clouds
Providing refuge, comfort, calm
To any seeker
And when time tolls its heavy bells
When once-magnificent branches droop
When breathtaking leaves transform, evolve, burst forth
Into explosions of colour
Then it will lift its head once more
Graciously to see dusk capture the fading day
A sight held alone to this great soul
A sight held alone by the great oak

I love nature and wildlife, and with my passion for poetry, I was able to combine the two and created 'Great Oak'. I hope to share and bless people with my poetry.
Enjoy!
