The News
They started out
slowley,
Then all at once.
A blur.
I remember people staring at me.
But i'm frozen.
I hear people crying,
I hear the doctor talking.
But it doesn’t matter.
The news is out.
Questions are zooming through my head.
Why Me?
Why That News?
Why Today?
They talk about testing,
about spreading cells.
They talk about…
Cancer.

I wrote this peice of poetry right after being diagnosed with ewings sarcoma. That is a type of cancer that grows in soft tissue and bone. My tumor (which held the cancer) was located on right under my left clavicle. I went through Chemo, Radiation and three surgerys. At the moment I am six months cancer free, and very happy. When people read this, I hope they get the message that bad things happen all over the place, and to good people and even if you are going through a tough time, you can get through it.
