Maybe I'm Right
For years
People are defined
By what they appear to be
And not by their personality.
For some reason
People will actually believe
They they are able to crack open
A person’s head
And spill the inner thoughts of their brain
Onto a piece of paper
Then expecting the letters of the words
To rearrange and spell out what defines the person.
Just by looking at the shade of their skin.
By where their ancestors come from.
And by what gender they are.
Because apparently there is something in the genes that make blonde hair,
Automatically makes them stupid
Or something in the pigments of dark skin
That makes a person carry around a gun
And will shoot you if tried.
Or maybe they put a drug in the hat of a white police officer
that makes them want to shoot innocent black men
Or the fact that you’re a female,
Makes you weak and a stay at home mom.
And the fact that you’re a male
Requires
Them to be strong and independent.
But this isn’t all true.
This isn’t true right?
Every person isn’t exactly like this
Not everyone likes or wants the same thing
That would be unbelievable if it was true
But I guess if you really think about it.
Maybe all of this
All these things that this certain person must be doing,
Isn’t true.
