Lovely, Lovely
Skipping and hopping and prancing
Spinning and spinning
I say,
“Won’t you spin me?
Spin me round and round
Because today the world spins for you!
For you and for me!”
I laughed,
I danced,
I smiled,
I swore my love to you
“Tonight I will love you forever!”
My heart grinned,
It chuckled,
It swelled with love for you
Today, we build the sun out of our tool sheds,
I sing and sing and sing,
“Lovely, lovely, you’re so lovely!”
My head twirls and twists and mangles
How could anyone be this lovely!
I’ve lost,
I’ve lived,
I’ve loved you and only you
There is no one more lovely!
Last night all the dead moons and stars rose again,
Glowing and shining and twinkling,
I bounded and I whirled and I leaped,
Life is kinda dizzy,
Kinda hazy
When you aren’t around
My hands trembled,
They shook,
They grasped yours,
My face beamed and it beamed and it beamed
“I love you more than the moon and the stars!”
