There is a boy whose name I know,
there is a boy, there is a boy.
His hand shakes and so does the world,
as he blows himself away.
There was a boy,
whose name I knew,
His hands shook and so did the world,
as he blew himself away.
If he shall ever wake from his slumber
the world would finally still,
but in his time of dreamless sleep,
the skies will mourn it’s rivers deep.
There is a boy, whose name I knew,
There is a boy,
There was a boy.

The author's comments:

In the past two years I have had four people close to me pass away, two of which were as the result of a suicide and I wanted to write a piece that embodied the emotions felt during the time of tragedy and the long term affects that would be the result of the deaths. I wanted to write it in a way that could resignate with younger people.
