The Forest
Fresh faced and virgin
She stands at the forest’s edge
To confront its obscurity
With a strong sense of forged faith
Rooted in her crumbling instinct
Gingerly she steps into its unknown
Instantly lost and
Drowning in an endless odyssey
What monsters hide behind each limb?
What will reveal itself with each step?
Each move is now calculated
With halting determination
Weighed by devastation
And Fear
Over her past
The end of the forest is calling
A trick?
Instituted by the secrets hidden in the trees
Desire drags her through
The end of the forest
And the monsters scratch
But cannot scar
For her fresh face
Remains on the other side
