At Last
The peaceful twilight sets in,
My mind no longer contains a trace of my daily worries
By the plentiful stars that linger above me
Which caress the ever gleaming moon.
The soft wind nips at the old, wise trees
Bearded with the moss that has grown over time.
They whisper,’Rest, child, you may rest
For it is safe here.’
They stand guard keeping me away from the evils of this world
Knowing all that I seek is
Mindful peace so I may close my
Weary eyes even if for a single
Frozen moment.
I stare at the serene night sky and grin.
I know that I am finally at peace.
I close my restful eyes,
As I know that my journey has found its end at last.
