My Own Little World
January 21, 2016
It’s dark in here as I stand in the spotlight
that I have created for myself.
I speak with a rhythm
and think with a stutter.
It’s cold in here as I smile with delight
and worry if it’s see-through.
I stand with confidence
and walk with a limp.
It’s painful in here as I hear the words of a nightmare
speaking with the voice of myself.
I laugh with animation
and cry with honesty.
It’s stressful in here as I continue to run myself ragged
in fear that I won’t be good enough.
I work with diligence
and sleep with panic.
I’ve created my own little world in here as I only care about the view
so people will wish to come.
I love with acceptance
and hate with guilt.

The life that I have created for myself inspired me to write this poem. I have my own YouTube channel, where I act as if everything is perfect. In this poem, I share that my life is not the way everyone percieves it to be and that I am imperfect too.
