Tea Light
There was one night,
when the sky was unusually bright
The air was humid and thick but it felt right
The leaves were vivid green and my nails were painted a glossy white
There was one night,
that for some reason made everything in the universe seem alright
As you walked me home
my mind couldn't help but roam
I had a million things running through my mind
but the only thing I could focus on was our fingers intertwined
There was one day,
when the sky was blurred gray
The air was cold and bitter when I begged you to stay
The leaves began to decay and the paint left on my nails was fading away
There was one day,
that for some reason made everything in the universe seem to go astray
As I walked away from you
the same bitter taste resurfaced in my mouth, but by now that's all I'm use to
I was stuck, surrounded by a crowd of a million blurry faces, I had to get through
but the only thing I could focus on was the distance that blocked me from you
