Flying High
From up above I can see the world in a different way
The view is not what you would hoped it would be,
Camouflaged behind the darkness used to be beauty,
Beauty of the hills that flourished and animals that roamed,
But now the war has spread all through the land,
Like a bird in the sky I fly until I die
Praying I survive another day,
Praying for more time to stay.
As I rode through the sky that one dreadful dreary night,
Planes buzzed around me trying to start a fight
My eyes looked up to see big fiery light,
Coming towards me to finally end my pilot life.
The faces of my loved ones flash through my mind,
So fast that I did not realize my clock ran out of time.
Once flying high I am now saying my goodbyes,
Goodbye to the plane that once kept me alive,
And farewell to my family and friends until next time.
